not a small hole but a hole a coon may use. if the hound trees on a tree and a hole is the size a coon may use. When hunting in the day light if a hound trees on a small tree or grape vine and you look around and see nothing a coon may use a den i tone them off the tree. After you shocked them did you make them go on hunting? If you don't mind elaborating.what was your threshold for shocking them? A blank? Junk? Obviously not a ton of coons out during daylight hours, but still possible to tree one I suppose. I have broke many a so called coon hound i put e collar on for two weeks put on loose and tight and few days and get them use to the tone and very light shock after two weeks go hunting in the day time and start training hunt every day for 7 days and start hunting at night after the 7th day i have seen a 1 out 10 go to a 4 to 6 out of 10 in a month of hunting good luck. Were they treeing squirrels as I hear lots of people say? Blanks? Dens? Coons?Īnyways, just curious to see what people found.
